Out With The Old: Concert Experience

After stumbling upon their music a few months ago, I looked forward to seeing Out With The Old live. Over the short time I have listened to their music, I have fallen in love with their songs “Watch Me Burn” and “San Francisco.” The band, Out With The Old, consists of members Brandon Guest, Christian VanBuskirk, Eli Martinez, Nathan Oaks, and Matt Skajem.

The set as a whole was full of energy and one could easily tell that the audience was having as much fun as the band. The instrumentals were strong and worked as a demanding force that made members of the audience, who may not have heard of them before; stop, listen, and have a good time. They were quickly further set apart from other bands by Matt and Eli’s unique and strong vocals. Through the entire set one could see the passion for the music that each member of the band had, but perhaps the most emotion came out when they slowed down a bit for their song “San Francisco.” The emotion was flawlessly portrayed through not only Matt’s voice, but also in the guitar.

During not only my interview with the band, but also while watching their set, I could easily see how much dedication and passion they have put into their music. Despite struggles in their personal lives while following their dreams, the band continues to persevere and put on an amazing show.

I would highly suggest giving Out With The Old a listen and if you have a chance to see them live, I would definitely encourage you to go out and to have good time. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this band and I look forward to seeing them again in the future.
